Helium Heat Exchanger Integrity Testing

Introducing the next generation of inspection and detection that surpasses current heat exchanger inspection methods in the dairy, beverage and liquid food industries.

WCR's patented testing system utilises an innovative helium/nitrogen gas mix plus dynamic flow in both the detection and contamination circuits and a vacuum to improve results.

Rigorous

Reduced false positives. Detects leaks as small as 10^-12 cc/sec, far more sensitive and reliable than other methods.

Fast Results

Provides quick, accurate leak detection for minimal downtime.

Reliable

Retained water in the Heat Exchanger is not an issue. Can be used on Plate, Tubular & Scraped Surface Heat Exchangers.

Environmentally Friendly

Helium is inert, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly. No physical contaminants are used.

What is Helium Integrity Testing?

Helium integrity testing is an advanced leak detection method that uses helium as a tracer gas. Helium is ideal for this purpose because its atoms are extremely small, allowing it to pass through microscopic leaks that would be undetectable with other methods.

The integrity test involves circulating helium through a plate heat exchanger system. A highly sensitive mass spectrometer then detects any helium that passes through leaks, pinpointing their exact location and severity.

This method offers unparalleled accuracy and sensitivity, detecting leaks as small as 10-12 cc/sec, which is thousands of times more sensitive than traditional methods like pressure testing or bubble testing.
